Hey, I care and I agree. I've always taken the same approach you took with your nephew with my children. I believe its very important to always look for intent first. Most often the act to harm or offend isn't the goal.

In terms of business, as a consumer, you become loyal to those products or services whose companies and employees are genuine and care enough about the buyer to want to see them happy with their purchase. Case in point: my realtor, Nancy Price of HER toured me through homes and pointed out their imperfections. She valued my happiness and satisfaction with the home I chose, more than her commission and she did so primarily because she is a good person but also because she knew that caring about her clients and their families' needs first would bring her satisfied, loyal customers and many great referrals.

So, people first, product second. Great post Rob :).
